There’s no formal instruction during open play—just a welcoming table, beautiful tiles, yummy snacks, and a community that grows one game at a time.

Should I know how to play Mahjong to attend a Open Play session?
Yes. These sessions are not designed for teaching the basics of Mahjong to beginners (see our Mahjong 101 class if you’re just getting started!).
What should I bring?
We will provide all you need to play - tiles, cards, mats, & racks.
What ages are Open Play session for?
Ages 18+
What if I purchase a ticket and can't attend?
We are not able to refund or transfer tickets to future events. However, you are welcome to give yours to a friend! If you are sending someone in your place please email our shopkeeper (leslie@rootandtwigstore.com) and let her know who we can expect.
Shipping information about this product:
Items ship from our store in Helotes, Texas within 2-3 business days; however, some large items may take up to 2 weeks to ship.
Orders with Standard service will be shipped via USPS First Class, USPS Priority Mail, UPS Ground, or FedEx Home Delivery.
Unless otherwise noted in the product description, purchases may be returned within 14 days of purchase for store credit (less promotional discounts and shipping). Items must be new, unopened, and unused in original packaging.
